IT Staff

The information technology staff supports the Department of Sociology and affiliated programs and centers. Staff offices are located in Rooms 140 and 140A. Consultations are by phone, email or walk-in. In addition to general consulting, each staff member has project responsibilities. Email contact is preferred when possible and longer consultations should be scheduled by appointment.

Effective summer of 2009 the Sociology staff has been combined with an IT staff member from Psychology and Neurosciences to form a joint computing operation serving both departments. Under this new arrangement, each Sociology IT staff member will have emerging obligations and responsibilities to Psychology and Neurosciences.

The staff members and their areas of specialization are:

Bob Jackson - Manager of Computing and Data Services - Room 140A -660-5601 - network and Linux administration, research data management consulting, data library services, account management, computing policy and procurement.

Rob Marks - Data Processing Specialist - Room 140 - 660-5616 - database, graphics, spreadsheet and desktop publishing consulting; web page development; email support; desktop configuration.

Jesse Riggan - Data Processing Specialist - Room 140 - 660-5602 - PC hardware support, configuration, repair and deployment; PC patch management; research data management; BlackBoard support; desktop configuration.
