Suzanne Shanahan wins prestigious Robert B. Cox Teaching Award.

Suzanne Shanahan has won a Trinity College Teaching Award, the Robert B. Cox Award. The award is one of four named teaching/scholarship awards given annually at Duke. Borrowing from Duke's website, these named awards "recognize faculty for their ability to encourage intellectual excitement, knowledge of their field and ability to communicate it to students, openness to students, skill in organizing courses, commitment to teaching over time, and willingness to invest substantial effort in meeting the College™s instructional needs. These awards are distributed across the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Natural Science

4/14/15 Professor Linda George has been selected to receive the Distinguished Teaching and Mentoring Award for 2004-5 from Duke University Graduate School. The award is intended to recognize a consistent record of good mentoring practices. Linda has demonstrated how dedicated mentoring of graduate students can transform the academic experience for all involved, allowing both mentor and student to contribute more prolifically and significantly to the academic community than either otherwise could. This highly competitive award will complement the Trinity College Undergraduate Teaching Award she won in 1990.
