Timezone Editor for Windows 2000 and earlier (not for XP)

To check the operating system of your computer (XP or 2000)

Right click "My Computer"

then click properties

Under "System" you will see the name of your operating system.

If you are not using Windows XP (XP has an automatic patch), launch Timezone editor here

Click "Open" and "Yes" until you get to the Windows Timezone Editor

Select Eastern Time and click "edit"

Set the choices as above. Then click "OK" and "Close"

Double click the time in the bottom right hand corner of your computer

Click the "Time Zone" tab

Choose any timezone other than Eastern and click "Apply" and then reset to "Eastern and hit "OK" as below

Now your computer is ready for the time change.
