Most cigarettes are soled in convenience stores, and almost 1/3 of money spent in a convenience store is on a tobacco product.
Tobacco companies typically sell and ship their products to wholesale companies that distribute the cigarettes to retailers, such as convenience stores.
The National Association of Convenience Stores reported
in its last industry report that in 1998 tobacco sales grossed about 50
billion, and were 28.9% of all in store purchases.
Although convenience stores are the biggest retailers
for cigarettes, grocery stores, gas stations and other similar stores also
sell cigarettes.
