Vivek Wadhwa

Vivek Wadhwa

Vivek Wadhwa is an Executive in Residence/Adjunct Professor for the Pratt School of Engineering at Duke University and a Wertheim Fellow at the Labor and Worklife Program at Harvard Law School. He is also a technology entrepreneur and a columnist for BusinessWeek.com. Wadhwa was named a "Leader of Tomorrow" by Forbes.com, and his company Relativity Technologies was named as one of the 25 "coolest" companies in the world by Fortune Magazine. Mr. Wadhwa holds a B.A. in Computing Studies from Canberra University in Australia and an MBA from New York University.

Gary Gereffi

Gary Gereffi

Gary Gereffi is Professor of Sociology and Director of the Center on Globalization, Governance & Competitiveness at Duke University (http://www.cggc.duke.edu/), where he teaches courses in economic sociology, globalization and comparative development, and international competitiveness. He received his B.A. degree from the University of Notre Dame and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Yale University. Gereffi has published seven books and numerous articles on economic development and business-government relations in various parts of the world. His books include: Commodity Chains and Global Capitalism (Praeger Publishers, 1994); and The New Offshoring of Jobs and Global Development (International Institute for Labor Studies, 2006).

Ben Rissing

Ben Rissing

Ben Rissing is a Wertheim Fellow in the Labor and Worklife Program at the Harvard Law School and the Project Manager of Duke’s engineering outsourcing and immigration research. As a Research Scholar with Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering, he investigated globalization, technology entrepreneurship and the roles of multinational corporations. Ben has a background in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Masters in Engineering Management from Duke University. Ben has been involved in a variety of projects ranging from engineering design and technology transfer to public policy in Washington DC. In his free time, Ben enjoys competitive fencing and has competed in a number of national competitions.
