Ben Rissing

Ben Rissing

Ben Rissing is a Wertheim Fellow in the Labor and Worklife Program at the Harvard Law School and the Project Manager of Duke’s engineering outsourcing and immigration research. As a Research Scholar with Duke University’s Pratt School of Engineering, he investigated globalization, technology entrepreneurship and the roles of multinational corporations. Ben has a background in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Masters in Engineering Management from Duke University. Ben has been involved in a variety of projects ranging from engineering design and technology transfer to public policy in Washington DC. In his free time, Ben enjoys competitive fencing and has competed in a number of national competitions.

Nishanth Lingamneni

Nishanth Lingamneni

Nishanth Lingamneni is a graduate of the Master of Engineering Management Program at Duke University. He has interned at Microsoft Corp in the summer of 2006 as an Associate Product Manager in Marketing and will be returning to Microsoft upon graduation. Over the past academic year, he has been involved as a research assistant with Duke’s Outsourcing Practicum, worked part time for AlphaMed Press and NetCentrics Corp on business oriented projects and is currently leading a team of students in developing the MEM program at Duke. He received his Bachelors degree from Osmania University, India in Electrical Engineering. In his free time, he likes to bar-tend, watch soccer and write restaurants reviews.

Soo Mi Cheong

Soo Mi Cheong

Soo Mi Cheong holds a Masters degree in Engineering Management from Duke University and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from Soongsil University, South Korea. She has almost nine years career in Information Technology (IT) field, specializing in finances and commercial banking. While a student at Duke, Soo Mi contributed to globalization research authored by both the Global Engineering and Entrepreneurship Research Team and the Fuqua School of Business’ CIBER center. Soo Mi is an avid music lover and plays the piano, harmonica and changgu. In her free time she enjoys running, swimming, traveling and dance.

Qi Weng

Qi Weng

Qi “Fiona” Weng holds an Electronics Engineering degree from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. While a graduate student in Duke’s Masters of Engineering Management Program, Fiona contributed to outsourcing research on the Chinese engineering workforce economy. Fiona graduated in 2006.
